Guitar Hero Metallica screenshots

Guitar Hero Metallica

I’m just gonna come out and say it, I don’t get Guitar Hero, I find the whole concept bizzare.  But there are lots people out there who love it, and can’t wait for Guitar Hero Metallica. So, just for you guys, here are some screenshots.

We live in a free society, so it’s only fair that if you really want to, then you have the right to prance around your living room awkwardly holding a ridiculous looking plastic “guitar” doing your best impression of an aging rocker, without fear of being made fun of.

Anyway, enjoy the screenshots, saddo!

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

By James | February 12, 2009 1:06 am

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare

It seems activision just can’t stop releasing call of duty games, and who can blame them. COD 4 was the best selling game of 2007, and COD 5 was in the top 5 for 2008. Add to that the profits they posted today that exceeded their estimates, and you soon see why they want to keep this gravy train moving.

Modern warfare 2, or should I be calling it COD 6, is being worked on by  Infinity Ward and will most likely be a direct sequel to the blockbusting COD 4. Weather it will include online co-op, zombies and Jack Bauer remain to be seen, but given the success of the last 2 Call of Duty games we’re sure it’ll be a hit.

Due out this holiday season, expect it to be on XBox 360, PS3, Wii, PC

Iron Man 2

Ironman

Yes, we remember the constant shower of homing missiles knocking us out of the sky. We remember the QTE button mashings to destroy enemy vehicles. We also remember the PS1 quality cutscenes.

Yes this post sounds a bit repetative, but then, so was the first game. However, for all the things it did wrong… there were a handful of saving graces that had Marvel fans shouting for a second game which could address the ‘rush job’ oversights made by the design team.

What we would like to see in IM2:

Need for Speed gets a reboot

By James | January 30, 2009 4:12 pm

Need for Speed: Undercover

In 2003 with the release of Need for Speed: Underground, EA moved its aging franchise to the streets. Six years later and, as anyone who’s played Need for Speed: Undercover can attest, it’s long past time for something fresh. So in a move that’s bound to get fans revved up, EA have announced three new NFS games for 2009.

  • Need for Speed: Shift (Xbox 360, PS3, PSP, PC) will be a “hardcore racing simulation” made by Slightly Mad Studios and will use real world racing drivers on the development team. NFS Shift will be an authentic simulation racer, featuring accurately modelled cars.
  • Need for Speed: Nitro (Wii, DS) taking full advantage of the Wiimote, NFS Nitro will be have a “fresh and unique visual style” and should feel “very Need for Speed but in a more mischievous, Nintendo way”.
  • Need for Speed: World Online (PC) is set to be a free online game launching in Asia in the summer and winter for the rest of us.

Boom Blox Bash Party

EA and Steven Spielberg get together again to bring us, Boom Blox Bash Party.

Bringing over 400 new blox busting levels that will see players lobbing pretend projectiles at their tv’s in new settings such as underwater and zero gravity.

“BOOM BLOX Bash Party is a wild social gaming experience,” said Steven Spielberg. “We know families and friends really enjoyed playing the original BOOM BLOX together, so we designed more explosive multiplayer experiences with BOOM BLOX Bash Party.”

With twice as many multiplayer challenges available and the ability to download even more new levels….. Wiimotes at the ready!
