Guitar Hero Metallica screenshots

Guitar Hero Metallica

I’m just gonna come out and say it, I don’t get Guitar Hero, I find the whole concept bizzare.  But there are lots people out there who love it, and can’t wait for Guitar Hero Metallica. So, just for you guys, here are some screenshots.

We live in a free society, so it’s only fair that if you really want to, then you have the right to prance around your living room awkwardly holding a ridiculous looking plastic “guitar” doing your best impression of an aging rocker, without fear of being made fun of.

Anyway, enjoy the screenshots, saddo!

16 Tekken 6 screenshots

Tekken 6

Fly kicking its way to our screens towards the end of the year is the king of the fisticuffs franchises, Tekken 6. Namco’s brawler has a tough challenger to face though, in the shape of Street Fighter 4, which has been flying off the shelves since its release in Japan.

Tekken is looking very slick as the following screen shots show in all their panda kicking glory, and let’s face it, as good as Street Fighter 4 is, you can’t beat on an endangered species, and what’s the point of a high-def beat-em-up experience if you can’t karate kick Chi Chi!?

School’s Out for Street Fighter IV

By Chris | February 13, 2009 4:40 pm

It all depends on Your skill!

Though possibly not quite as much as past iterations did. The long awaited SFIV is a return to form, ditching many gamplay tweaks offered by previous cannon/non-cannon games and introducing new ones to help ease in the uninitiated.

The art direction has polarised the SF community, but it is hard to deny that Capcom have created a smooth and totally unique take on the Street Fighter franchise. We really like the results, with the characters having an almost tangible weight to them. It is extremely satisfying to land a combo on an opponent and watch the waves of pain rush across their face.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

By James | February 12, 2009 1:06 am

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare

It seems activision just can’t stop releasing call of duty games, and who can blame them. COD 4 was the best selling game of 2007, and COD 5 was in the top 5 for 2008. Add to that the profits they posted today that exceeded their estimates, and you soon see why they want to keep this gravy train moving.

Modern warfare 2, or should I be calling it COD 6, is being worked on by  Infinity Ward and will most likely be a direct sequel to the blockbusting COD 4. Weather it will include online co-op, zombies and Jack Bauer remain to be seen, but given the success of the last 2 Call of Duty games we’re sure it’ll be a hit.

Due out this holiday season, expect it to be on XBox 360, PS3, Wii, PC

Tomb Raider: Underworld DLC delayed

By James | February 10, 2009 8:24 pm

Lara Croft

So, maybe you’ve bought Underworld, or maybe you got bored of Lara Croft a decade ago when she was still made of triangles and nobody had even heard of Angelina Jolie. I however still love Tomb Raider games, i’m not quite sure why that is, but I have a couple of ideas……

Anyway, weather you like the games or not they are usually good sellers, that is untill underworld came along. Maybe Lara has lost her appeal or maybe its the dreaded credit crunch. However Eidos announcd last month 2 new DLC levels, perhaps with the aim of boosting sales. The first level “Beneath the Ashes” was set for release 10th of February, but this has now been delayed due to “An unexpected technical issue”.

Bionic Commando coming in May

By James | February 6, 2009 12:34 pm

Bionic Commando

It may be 20 years since the bionically-enhanced commando first hit our screens, but the wait is nearly over. Starring Nathan “R.A.D” Spencer, the ultimate fusion of man and machine, and packing more arm candy than The Six Million Dollar man and Robocop combined. Nathan, a falsely imprisoned government agent, is facing execution, but wait, there are terrorists on hand to kick start the adventure. The story revolves around terrorists, who after detonating an experimental earthquake/radiation bomb destroying Ascension City, then occupy it. So who you gonna call? The guy with the awesome arm of course.

And what an arm it is. Not only can you use it to grapple and swing your way around the terrain, but also to launch boulders or cars, uppercut enemies or use them as a shield and, get this, whip enemies into the air transforming them into a human kite. A human kite! Roll on May.

Bionic Commando is to be released in May for Xbox 360 and PS3 with a PC version following a few months later.

Bad Company 2

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 - Header

Like blowing things up? Destruction Junkie? Well good news, EA have announced Battlefield: Bad Company 2, with the promise to take everything that players liked in the original and up the ante – more vehicles, more destruction and more team play.

Due for release in winter on Xbox360 and PS3, BC2 will see the infamous “B” Company fight their way through snowy mountaintops, dense jungles and dusty villages, with oodles of weapons and vehicles on hand to aid them.

However if winter seems to long away for a fresh fix of Frosbite Engine driven destruction, never fear, available this summer via Xbox live and Playstation Store comes Battlefield 1943. Set during WWII and offering 24 player action in three classic locations: Wake Island, Guadalcanal and Iwo Jima.

Screenshots and a trailer after the jump.

Iron Man 2

By Chris | February 4, 2009 4:52 pm

Ironman

Yes, we remember the constant shower of homing missiles knocking us out of the sky. We remember the QTE button mashings to destroy enemy vehicles. We also remember the PS1 quality cutscenes.

Yes this post sounds a bit repetative, but then, so was the first game. However, for all the things it did wrong… there were a handful of saving graces that had Marvel fans shouting for a second game which could address the ‘rush job’ oversights made by the design team.

What we would like to see in IM2:
