Ironman

Yes, we remember the constant shower of homing missiles knocking us out of the sky. We remember the QTE button mashings to destroy enemy vehicles. We also remember the PS1 quality cutscenes.

Yes this post sounds a bit repetative, but then, so was the first game. However, for all the things it did wrong… there were a handful of saving graces that had Marvel fans shouting for a second game which could address the ‘rush job’ oversights made by the design team.

What we would like to see in IM2:

  • A Hub area (Stark’s penthouse or Stark Tower).
  • Open world (to a degree) centring round your Hub so that you can return to re-arm/repair if needs be.
  • The cool multi-targeting shoulder cannon seen in the Movie (assume this would work like StarFox 64).
  • More hand to hand moves.
  • The ability to track one enemy per hand (c’mon, he looked like Ultraman).
  • Less enemy missiles.
  • Sub-system damage (requiring you to return to base instead of the poxy 3x reboot)

We could carry on listing positive additions to the next game. They managed to nail the flight of IronMan and the graphics were acceptable. Here’s hoping that as they build on the engine from the first game (if they use it) the team will have more time to make a game worthy of the Iron Man character.
