Nintendo has confirmed the release date and price for its new handheld masterpiece the Nintendo DSi. Set to go on sale across Europe on the 3rd of April (that’s 2 days earlier than the US :P) with an RRP of £149.
Now untill recently I hadn’t bothered much about the DSi, simpy because I thought it was just a DS Lite with a camera. It turns out I was wrong. For a start it has two cameras! But before you run out and buy one, there’s more. Nintendo boast about the DSi having enhanced sound, bigger screens and being 12% slimmer and all those things are great, but also the DSi is packing wi-fi and a web browser straight out of the box.
You can expect the usual shortages of stock once release date comes, so it’s no supprise that pre-order / stock checking websites are popping up all over the place. From what I can tell, DSi Prices seems to be the best of the bunch.
Nintendo DSi, £149.99 available in Black or White, April 3rd.

A design flaw in the Xbox Live system, that deletes Gamertags, is being investigated by Microsoft. The flaw has left some Gamers with no choice but to start afresh with a new Gamertag, losing all their Xbox Live points and achievements.
The problem, which manifests itself with the error code ’8015d080′, effects certain Xbox Live Gold accounts that are linked to a windows live email address that is set to expire after a certain period of inactivity, e.g Hotmail.
But fear not, there is a cure… setup a new Gamertag using a different email address… great!

I’m just gonna come out and say it, I don’t get Guitar Hero, I find the whole concept bizzare. But there are lots people out there who love it, and can’t wait for Guitar Hero Metallica. So, just for you guys, here are some screenshots.
We live in a free society, so it’s only fair that if you really want to, then you have the right to prance around your living room awkwardly holding a ridiculous looking plastic “guitar” doing your best impression of an aging rocker, without fear of being made fun of.
Anyway, enjoy the screenshots, saddo!

Fly kicking its way to our screens towards the end of the year is the king of the fisticuffs franchises, Tekken 6. Namco’s brawler has a tough challenger to face though, in the shape of Street Fighter 4, which has been flying off the shelves since its release in Japan.
Tekken is looking very slick as the following screen shots show in all their panda kicking glory, and let’s face it, as good as Street Fighter 4 is, you can’t beat on an endangered species, and what’s the point of a high-def beat-em-up experience if you can’t karate kick Chi Chi!?

It all depends on Your skill!
Though possibly not quite as much as past iterations did. The long awaited SFIV is a return to form, ditching many gamplay tweaks offered by previous cannon/non-cannon games and introducing new ones to help ease in the uninitiated.
The art direction has polarised the SF community, but it is hard to deny that Capcom have created a smooth and totally unique take on the Street Fighter franchise. We really like the results, with the characters having an almost tangible weight to them. It is extremely satisfying to land a combo on an opponent and watch the waves of pain rush across their face.

SCEI has today announced that as of 1st January 2009, world wide sales of its handheld entertainment system had reached 50 million. Now thats a lot of PSP’s, in fact it so many that if you stacked them all up, you would have a tower so tall it would be 3 times higher than the height at which the International Space Station orbits.
The PSP was launched in late 2004, and as Sony have yet to confirm a PSP2, so we can but guess at what the final sales tally will eventually be. The sky’s the limit… or shouldI say moon?

It seems activision just can’t stop releasing call of duty games, and who can blame them. COD 4 was the best selling game of 2007, and COD 5 was in the top 5 for 2008. Add to that the profits they posted today that exceeded their estimates, and you soon see why they want to keep this gravy train moving.
Modern warfare 2, or should I be calling it COD 6, is being worked on by Infinity Ward and will most likely be a direct sequel to the blockbusting COD 4. Weather it will include online co-op, zombies and Jack Bauer remain to be seen, but given the success of the last 2 Call of Duty games we’re sure it’ll be a hit.
Due out this holiday season, expect it to be on XBox 360, PS3, Wii, PC

So, maybe you’ve bought Underworld, or maybe you got bored of Lara Croft a decade ago when she was still made of triangles and nobody had even heard of Angelina Jolie. I however still love Tomb Raider games, i’m not quite sure why that is, but I have a couple of ideas……
Anyway, weather you like the games or not they are usually good sellers, that is untill underworld came along. Maybe Lara has lost her appeal or maybe its the dreaded credit crunch. However Eidos announcd last month 2 new DLC levels, perhaps with the aim of boosting sales. The first level “Beneath the Ashes” was set for release 10th of February, but this has now been delayed due to “An unexpected technical issue”.
